Netspeak

I found a great resource that I need to share. It's a website called NetSpeak. Netspeak.org is a phraseology search engine--it will help you complete a "misremembered" phrase ("a bird in the hand is worth--what was that again?" Just type in the part that you remember and the search engine will find the most often-used next word or words. It's also a great way to find the best word to use when you just don't know what to say.

Stingy Fast Food places

Posted on May 26, 2011 by admin

I hate it when a fast food place decides to be stingy with their condiments. I am used to being able to go to the little condiment area and get what I need to fix my sandwich, coffee, whatever. And if I need more ketchup during my meal, I like to just go over and get it. Now some restaurants are keeping some of the condiments behind the counter. I don't want to have to stand in line again and just because the manager thinks most of his customers are condiment thieves.

Most recently I noticed this odd practice at the Chick-fil-A near my office. They are keeping their cool new dip or squeeze ketchup packets behind the counter. And they assumed I didn't know that there is more ketchup in one of those packets than in the old standard-sized ones so they would only give me two. Of course, I had to get up in the middle of my lunch and go stand in line to ask for more.

McDonald's is another culprit. Some locations have recently been seen keeping coffee fixins behind the counter. This is especially annoying when I stop in for some coffee on the way to work. I like to put some stuff in my coffee, stir and taste. Then adjust as necessary. I don't want to have to go back and ask for another creamer or some more Splenda. That's ridiculous. I have talked to other people that hate this practice too. What about you?
