Emergency Email

The Emergency Email & Wireless Network is a free public service that will help you by making sure you have all the latest emergency information delivered right to your email or phone. Breaking weather or homeland security information will be sent to you as soon as it happens. If you're like me, and want to be sure that you wake up in the event of, say, a tornado warning, this service is for you. I don't want to wait until the tornado is close enough for me to hear it to wake up my family and take cover. I want a little warning. I have the alerts sent by emergencyemail.org set to go to my Blackberry and they make a sound I can't sleep through. I will know when we are under a tornado warning and will take care of my wife and kids.

You can select your state and county or parish, and you will receive all emergency alerts from your local, state and federal government. Then you can select additional services such as severe weather alerts, health alerts, financial risk aleerts, homeland security, organ donation, routine blood drives, and Amber alerts.

You can also set times that you don't want alerts...such as if you don't want to be awakened, or if you only want the alerts at night.

The last choice you need to make is how to have the alerts delivered to you. The site offers four options:

  1. Computer or Blackberry
  2. Cell Phone
  3. Digital Pager
  4. Fax

This is a very cool service. Check it out...it just might save your life someday.
